Are you and your little princess theatre lovers? From the glitzy glamour of Broadway brilliance to the community charm of local theatre, we love MUSICALS. And as seasoned Disney aficionados, we know a thing or two about fairytale princesses! We've compiled a list of six upcoming local productions, inspired by your very favourites. If you are a princess lover or happen to know one - check out our recommendations. All of these shows are Hampshire based, family friendly and will be sure to fill up your magic-metre for a very long time!

Frozen Junior
This production of Disney's Frozen Junior is brought to you by Spot On Productions, a local amateur theatre company who have been bringing high quality productions to Eastleigh since 2015. As a junior production, all your favourite characters (and your two favourite princesses!) will be played by under 18s. Who knows! Could this show inspire your little princess to take to the stage in future?
Based on the 2013 movie of the same name, Frozen Jr brings all the magic of Arendelle to the stage. Follow Elsa and Anna on their adventure, with all the same memorable songs from the film, music and lyrics written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, as well as a few new ones you may not have heard!
A magical story of love and acceptance between two sisters, packed with adventure, humour and a sprinkling of ice magic, this production is sure to melt even the frostiest heart. Are you ready to let it go with your little Frozen superfan? ❄️
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This spectacular production may just be the biggest on our list! Coming to the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, this pantomime is hitting the theatre this Christmas for a three-week run.
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, don’t miss the fairest pantomime of them all! - The Mayflower Theatre
Starring Ashley Banjo & Diversity (Britain's Got Talent winners), Christopher Biggins, Kev Orkian, Rachel Stanley and Kirsty Ingram, this production is packed full of sensational songs, breathtaking dance numbers and comedy that will have your little ones giggling all the way home.
Loosely based on the iconic, classic, the original princess film - this show is set to fill up that magic-metre with some good old nostalgia! Throw in some audience participation for that added panto zazz, and you've got an excellent night on your hands. The only thing we can't guarantee is that talking to animals won't result in some suspicious looks from your friends! 🐿️
Sleeping Beauty
The second pantomime on our list is none other than Sleeping Beauty, presented by Performing Arts Company (PAC Arts) at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End. A timeless fairytale, it follows the story of a princess placed under a sleeping curse - to be woken with a kiss from her one true love... Gives you chills, doesn't it?
Based in Hedge End since 1992 and with over 80 productions under their belt, PAC Arts is a well known local amateur theatre group who can't wait to bring this production to life. You're in for a once upon a dream kind of night with this production! The only real question... Will you wear pink... or blue? 💖💙
The Little Mermaid
We ALL know this story inside and out! A childhood staple, with a bonus recent remake (which was also INCREDIBLE!) to bring it back into our lives. This musical production is brought to us by Kate Izzard, and will be performed at The Corn Exchange in Newbury. Isn't it neat?
Featuring your favourite characters, Ariel, Prince Eric, Scuttle, Sebastian and Ursula - as well as all the classic songs you've come to know and love by Disney royalty - music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, plus additional lyrics by Glenn Slater. Perhaps your little princess is also a mermaid fan? This magical evening is certainly set to capture your hearts and become part of your world next Valentine's Day! 🧜♀️
Six the musicalJunior
Now - although strictly speaking this one isn't about princesses... You'll have half a dozen QUEENS to make up for it! Dive into some history with this production of SIX the musical, based on the story of Henry VIII's six wives. Adapted for family viewing, this production is another one brought to you by the brilliant Spot On Productions, local to Eastleigh - and is another junior production, played by under 18s.
Bring your little one to this educational rock concert, packed with catchy tunes and killer dance moves. You may just feel the urge to hop on stage and tread the boards yourself! Tickets have not yet been released for this powerhouse all female production next February, so check back soon! 👑
Beauty and the Beast
The classic tale of the beauty Belle, falling in love with her Beast - thus breaking the spell that keeps him from being the charming prince she deserves. This production is yet another one brought to you by the award winning Spot on Productions (who seem to be very keen on their princesses!) and will be coming to The Point Theatre in Eastleigh next year, end of May and early June (Bonus points if you get that musical theatre reference there! Comment below if you know what we're talking about!)
Featuring a full and enthusiastic ensemble of local performers, all your favourite characters in their various furniture forms, and the classic songs you know and love (plus a few more new ones thrown in there too!) Disney's Beauty and the Beast will certainly bring some magic to your little princess next year! 🥀

I know, I knooow, we said six in total. But this one was too intruiging not to add to our list! So as a special bonus extra, Pop Princesses is coming to Mayflower Studios (MAST) in Southampton for a one-show-only spectacular!

A children's pop concert with a twist - meet four fabulous princesses who sing all your favourite childhood tunes from the films and musicals, as well as top hits from artists such as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Little Mix - on their way to becoming princess pop stars! 🎤
